Abstract/Summary When Kyra, a normal teenage girl, is caught in a clash between an elf and a fairy she is magically transformed into a Tri-ling; part human, part fairy and part elf. Lily (a fairy) and Imogen (an elf), introduce Kyra to their secret world and take her to magic school headed by Professor Maxwell. Here Kyra joins the class to learn how to control her new found magical powers. Kyra begins to lead a double life, hidden from her step-father Steve and best friend Peter. In addition to regular school, dog walking and basketball practise, Kyra must learn the basics of magic and help her classmates; fairies, Lily and Ruksy and elves; Imogen and Darra solve surprising, funny and sometimes dangerous magical outbreaks that threaten to expose the magical world to humans. When Kyra develops powerful unpredictable magic, she becomes the envy of the magical world. Meanwhile, a suspicious Peter edges closer to discovering her secret. When the source of her power is revealed, Kyra becomes a valuable weapon in the magical world and an unexpected threat emerges. These young guardians, humans, fairies and elves must unite to save both their worlds.
